Chapter Text
*BOOM*
Mukuro’s Bunny Ears twitched, a small smirk creeping on her face as she sat in her magnetically locked cell.
A thunderstorm…this may very well be the chance I’ve been waiting for…my chance to escape! I may not be the Bunny Analyst that Junko is…but if there’s one Bunny Talent I possess, it’s how to survive and bide my time…and how to plan around the clockwork patterns and behaviors of my enemies…
Mukuro gripped the bars of her cell and watched as the Bunny Guard walked back and forth in front of the row of cells, hearing the jingling of their keys and the metallic clang of their gun hitting their belt from within their holster.
Just one…just one stroke of luck is all I need…then I can get my revenge on…on HER…
“I’m now his Life Mate, not Mukuro…and that’s undeniable evidence that I love him far more than Mukuro Ikusaba ever will.”
Mukuro gripped the bars tighter, imagining that she was wringing Kyoko’s neck as her annoying, victorious smirk flashed in the Bunny Soldier’s mind.
It’s not fair! Makoto could have been MY Life Mate…I knew it ever since he smiled at me the first day we enrolled in Hope’s Peak Academy together! Makoto’s smile flashed before her eyes before she thought If only I hadn’t been so stupid as to follow Junko into Despair! Then…then Makoto would have mated with ME instead of HER! Now they’re Life Mates, and all my whining won’t change that…
Mukuro flashed back to one of her classes with Makoto and the others in their class, one where they got a primer on the rules involving Life Mates.
Well…who says those are the rules?! Mukuro denied, thinking Yeah, nobody’s ever tried to challenge them, so who says I can’t become Makoto’s Life Mate?! All I have to do is get that Bunny Detective out of the picture, then I’ll prove them all wrong by mating with Makoto and bearing his Bunny Babies! I just need…
*BOOM* *FLASH*
As the Bunny Guard returned to make his rounds in front of her cell, lightning struck the Police Burrows, causing the power to flicker for a few seconds.
Mukuro smirked as she realized The magnetic locks won’t be in effect with the electricity on the fritz! This is it! The chance I’ve been waiting for!
While the power was still flickering, Mukuro launched herself into a powerful kick, making the door fly into the opposite wall, startling the Bunny Guard. Before he could make a move, Mukuro rushed him from behind, wrapping her elbows around his throat in a chokehold. As the Bunny Soldier started to apply pressure to the Guard’s Head, the Guard started to make choking sounds, presenting Mukuro with a dilemma.
What should I do? If I leave him alive, he’ll just call for help and I won’t have as much time to go into hiding and plan my next move…I should just snap his neck and not leave anything to chance. But then… Makoto’s smile flashed in her mind, making her realize …But then Makoto would never forgive me. Kyoko is one thing, but an innocent guard’s death is one Makoto would never forgive me for. I…I can’t kill him…I’ll just knock him out and make my escape…
Her decision clear in her mind, Mukuro applied pressure to the Bunny Guard’s head as she held him in a sleeper hold, relaxing her grip when she heard him breathe out and felt him slump against her. Looking down to make sure, she confirmed with her eyes that the Guard was now unconscious.
“QUICKLY, TO THE PRISON CELLS! WE NEED TO MAKE SURE IKUSABA DIDN’T ESCAPE OR TRY TO BREAK ENOSHIMA OUT!”
No! I need to get out of here!
With her time for escape now limited, Mukuro quickly pocketed the Bunny Guard’s gun and keys before she ran as fast as she could down the hallway of prison cells, only to stop at the one belonging to her sister. She turned to see Junko, still in her straitjacket, lying on her bed with the same creepy smile that she had when Kyoko and Shuichi temporarily took her in for interrogation.
“Fuck you. Bitch.” Mukuro spat out, feeling a weight finally lifted off her shoulders as she thought Boy, that felt good…I wish I had done that sooner…alright, no more distractions, I have to escape while I still can!
Mukuro made her way to the exit, running as fast as she could while the rest of the Bunny Guards were in hot pursuit.
EUREKA! She exclaimed to herself as she saw the entrance to the outside world, her eyes narrowing as she rushed to the door. She quickly took out the keys she stole and inserted them one by one into the keyhole, smirking as she finally turned the right one in the lock. Withdrawing the key, she threw the door open before bursting into another run, disappearing into the darkness and booming of the stormy night, the weather covering her tracks.
Not long afterwards, the remaining Bunny Guards burst into the lobby, only to see the door thrown open, nothing but pitch-black darkness and the occasional lightning strike visible from within the Burrows.
As they all blinked in confusion and panic, one Bunny Guard turned around and grabbed his cell phone, scrolling through his contacts before tapping one and holding it up to his Human Ear.
“Chief, we’ve got a code red! Mukuro Ikusaba has escaped!”
