Maybe Jayce hated his new classmate. It was ridiculous because Jayce liked everyone, and everyone liked Jayce. He was that kind of guy—universally likable. It was as natural as the sky being blue or gravity keeping your feet on the ground: Jayce was friendly, and people gravitated toward him without hesitation.
But maybe it wasn’t a universal rule after all. Apparently, Viktor had missed the memo.
