The red-head frowns. “Is?”
“...to fulfill this dream of mine,” he sighs eventually.
“Dream?” Akane purses his lips. He has a vague inkling that it must be about… “About?”
Teru rolls back over, looking up at him cheekily. “Now, Aoi, it wouldn’t be fun to spoil the surprise.”

“Yeah,” Teru confirms. Akane tries to control the bubble of satisfaction trying to reign in his chest at the approval of his inference. He dismisses it as the pride of being validated as an observer, and definitely not because it’s good to know that he still knows Teru best. The boy in question hums in thought. “I just think it’s interesting that whenever humans feel the need to let out their own emotions, they turn to art.”“Don’t say it like that,” he says, the sharp tone contrasting the softness in his volume.
Teru turns to him with a questioning hum, and now Akane wishes he spoke quieter because, of course, Teru heard him. He always does, as though his ears were trained to pick up on the slightest of sounds the redhead makes —as though all his senses were heightened just to see through him like it was second nature. Teru finally speaks, voice gentle and patient, and it almost almost sounds pleasant. “Like what?”
Akane huffs, eyes averting from Teru who is now looking at him. Perhaps Teru’s more-than-often dazed state isn’t the only thing hindering them from ever actually looking at each other. With a hesitant tone, he responds. “Like you’re not human too.”

Summary
In the depths of their school, in an old classroom that was renewed and rearranged, now called the “Students Council’s office”, sat Teru Minamoto and Akane Aoi, working silently on some papers. The students were long gone, and the sun was setting by far faster than they would like it to, as the never-ending papers were still lying in front of them on the desk. They were the only students still in the school's building, but not on its grounds.
Lost in his thoughts, Teru didn't notice Akane already packing his stuff and ready to call it a day. He was brought back to reality by the same guy kicking his ankle with his foot.
“Earth to Minamoto? What kind of school president are you if you keep zoning out while we're working on papers, what do you even think about for so long” while talking, Akane managed to pack up all of his things and took his bag, waiting for Teru
“Thinking of how to exorcise a specific supernatural” he had that porcelain perfect smile that every pair of eyes in their school had seen at least once plastered across his face.

Akane knew that it didn’t make a difference to Teru whether it was his choice or not, it hurt him all the same. With that in mind, he never expected him to be so forgiving, even with a catch. He’s still struggling to wrap his head around that part, as some things about Teru remain a mystery to him.
In his current situation, however, Akane is more concerned with the aforementioned catch.
“You look pale.”
“I thought that was the goal.”
A hand touches his face, scarred but soft. “I didn’t bring you here to scare you.”
Akane glares. “That’s the cherry on top for you.”
