Summary
The day after Scar breaks up with Grian, the dead come back to life. Knowing that venturing out alone is a death sentence, the sudden onset of the apocalypse forces them to stick together despite the tensions between them. In the wreckage of the world, they're forced to survive side-by-side, coming to terms with the fact that—try as they might—there's no one they trust more than each other.
“Go!” Grian shouts as the monster charges, putting his whole force into the blow.
Scar watches, frozen stiff as Grian fights until blood and gore and viscera mark the creature up like a Pollock painting.
“What are you waiting for?!” Grian snaps when he finally notices that Scar is still standing there. He grips his weapon tight and attacks a final time, slamming the zombie down—good and dead—and standing panting over top of it, strained but victorious. He starts rushing from the scene, calling back for Scar over his shoulder. “Run!”
And in a way that’s as familiar to him as breathing, Scar chases after him.

“No, Grian!” Scar exclaims, reaching for his diamond sword. “You know, I was planning on hitting Team BEST first, give ‘em a real good thrashing. Send a message and all that! Can’t mess with ol’ Scar! Not anymore, no sir!” He takes another step toward Grian.
It’s the instinct of green life, Grian knows, that has him backing away slowly. He takes a few tiny steps backwards.
Scar looks at him, something angry and hurt in his gaze, “But I think you’ll make a good first message to the masses. You were the first to take advantage of me, after all.”
or, grian has won third life. choking on his guilt, he jumps. but he isn’t taken to the afterlife. and he seems to be the only one who knows about third life.

Theo knows he doesn’t have any right to have any feelings for Liam Dunbar, let alone the feelings that include him holding and kissing and letting Liam know that he loves him more than he has ever loved anyone, he’s quite aware, thank you very much.
That is exactly the reason why he’s doing absolutely everything to hide it as much as he can.
However, how well he succeeds in that sometimes is a completely different topic.
(or, in other words, 5 times Theo could (almost) hide his feelings for Liam and 1 time he (genuinely) couldn't.)
