Summary
Perhaps it’s the knowledge that if Optimus dies, that idiot Sentinel takes charge of the Autobots. Perhaps it’s that Megatron wanted another kill to add to his tally. Perhaps it’s the tug of anguish and sorrow that the thought of Optimus dying evokes within him. He would rather not consider the latter too deeply.
(Or five times Megatron protects Optimus and one time Optimus protects Megatron.)
