Summary
Maeve Kov has secrets. After years on the run, she knew that she couldn't trust a single soul about her past. But after moving to Seoul, South Korea and becoming acquainted with a group of friends who welcomed her warmly, she starts to doubt herself. Meanwhile, a serial killer runs rampant through the city streets, leaving body after body in their wake. Shaken with fear, Maeve tries to carry on with her life and with focus on her new friends, but that soon becomes difficult when the killer is revealed to be someone a lot closer to her than she anticipated.
Seems like trust didn't mean anything in the end.

Summary
“You look sad,” she turned her eyes to the road, fixing them onto the white line painted on the street. Her voice was hoarse and feeble after weeks of not using it and the gnawing of her emotions burned her throat.
She wasn’t expecting an answer from him. She didn’t even know why she spoke in the first place, but his sadness was etched onto his face. She ached for him, even if she didn’t know him. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw movement. It was barely there, just a subtle flick of his eyes and her heart began to pound in her chest.
“I’m not sad,” he said in a deep, flat voice. He sounded defeated and... dead. A shell of a man, that’s all he was.
