It shouldn't have been a problem; she was quite capable of parsing the many meanings of no trouble in a place like this, way out on the edge of nowhere: don't start shit with the customers. Don't be someone that gets talked about in town. And most particularly, don't disappear into the night with a good for nothing customer and the evening's takings, like the last girl who'd tended bar here.
