This is a historical AU, and takes inspiration from both Monkie Kid and Journey to the West aspects. :)

Pigsy deals with a lot going on in his mind daily, from bad mental health, to Demon-Specific Dysmorphia, etc. He doesn’t know how to deal with it, but luckily Tang, love of his life, is there to able to help him through it all.
[Pigsy goes through a lot in this fic just warning you, chapter 6 is crazy. Tang also gets some secondhand trauma from chapter 6.]

Summary
Long ago, just two years after the Journey to the West, Tripitaka is killed by Xiaotian during his sudden attack on a village.
That is the story the Celestial Realm believed. They did not bother to ask questions about the many holes in this narrative. So, the simian was executed by the Monkey King, who buried him on Flower Fruit Mountain and spiraled into a pit of inconsolable grief. His death strained many bonds between family and friends, and his sworn siblings were left feeling forever incomplete.
Then, just a few days after his death, Xiaotian’s corpse went missing from his tomb. No amount of searching lead anywhere. Eventually, his heartbroken loved ones were forced to move on.
Centuries later, a horrible car accident kills a family of three. However, the daughter’s body is never found. As if her corpse had just disappeared.
Unbeknownst to the world, somewhere beneath the surface a simian was trying to comfort a crying, recently revived young girl.Heavily inspired by Of Blood and Bones, MK and Bai He are revived and forced to serve the Lady Bone Demon. Trust and relationships are strained as MK tries his best to protect Bai He from her fate and is forced to go against those he once loved.
