“You are the prettiest French woman I’ve ever seen,” a soft lilting voice reached Fleur’s ears.
A hint of annoyance rippled through her, Fleur was not in the mood to be hit on today, by anyone. Lifting her head, she was startled when she found herself drawn to a pair of warm chocolate brown eyes that she hadn’t seen for the better part of three years. Standing before her in a pair of tight blue jeans and a simple gray button-down shirt was Hermione Granger. Her once bushy hair was now tamed into wavy curls, and she carried herself with a sense of confidence that reminded Fleur of her Maman.
Fleur couldn’t help the pleased smile that lit her face upon seeing the younger brunette, but she could see the other women in the cafe turning to see who had just spoken.
“That’s bold of you to say standing in the middle of France with so many beautiful French women around,” Fleur replied, her smile only growing at the sparkle in Hermione’s eyes.

I can’t talk to my family, I haven’t kept in touch with old friends since moving, and all of my new friends here are her friends first.
I need advice. And perspective. Maybe mostly perspective. I need to tell someone who doesn’t know either of us what happened, and hear what you think is going on, and what I can do. For what is quite possibly the first time in my life, I’m lost.

Whistler blinks four, maybe five times, her big brain clearly spinning in its tracks trying to make sense of what she’s seeing. She finally looks over to Jane, her jaw slightly slack. “What…”
Jane steps forward, knowing her efforts to draw Whistler’s attention away from the drugged up puppy on the couch will be futile. “Lucy had a little run in with a modified laughing gas this afternoon,” she says softly. “She’ll be fine, but she’s still a little…um…”
