“It doesn’t seem exceptionally normal for one to dine with the thing it kills,” Jisung said suddenly. “Y’know, it’s abnormal for two predators.”
Minho shrugged. “Well, it’s not like I can kill here. Neither can you.”
“Fair enough,” Felix hummed, placing the empty glass vessel on the counter. Minho glanced at his lips—stained red. Somehow the color didn’t bother him this time—maybe it was the prior knowledge that it wasn’t blood.
“How do you know my name?” Minho asked, resting his face on his palm, his elbow stretching onto the counter.
“You run famous both ways, love,” Felix replied as Jisung sipped his drink. “Hold exceptional looks too.”

Summary
When the time for the high notes came, Minho continued with a falsetto and a flat voice, something which twisted parts of Jisung’s brain with utmost curiosity. It was the same kind which he knew Hyunjin had when he saw Felix—the same kind he felt now—the one wherein an artist finds their muse.
Jisung breathed heavily when Minho finished the song, his head pounding at par with his heart. He watched as Minho placed the guitar on his lap and looked up sheepishly. “How was it?”
“I think I’ll write an essay and hand it to you,” Jisung whispered. “You’re… amazing.”
Minho laughed at that—the breathy laugh that he always did. When did it become always?
Jisung watched in awe as the soft orange light danced on Minho’s skin as he shook his head. “There was that one line in your book—Jisung-ah,” Minho began, handing the guitar back to Jisung. “It was when Seungha finally crossed Miroh after almost losing Hwangjae. What was it…? If those declarations of love were what drove my heart to sabotage, I’d like to resubmit my essay and pin it to your filthy chalkboard back in Gangseo-gu.”

The bus suddenly lurched to stop and Seungmin frowned as he glanced outside the window. No one really got up here—at least no one had over the past months.
He eyed the door as it hissed open and the person awaiting at the stand got in. If the world was a pile of rusted coins, the man that entered would be the only polished kind. He didn't shine, no, neither did he smile as he scanned his card and made his way into the bus—but he simply had this… aura to him that promised that he wasn't contaminated like the rest of them.
Clad in full gym pants and a white windbreaker zipped to his neck, he trotted over and then paused right at the entrance of Seungmin's seat, eying Seungmin's bag wordlessly.
[The bus was empty, save for the two rows occupied on the left.]

Although, it seemed that the universe had different plans. Just near the empty seat next to him, came the figure of another boy, who pulled the chair back so he could sit down. “Hyunjin-ah,” the volunteer called, walking over with a gentle smile. “This is Lee Minho. He's almost two years older than you—well, it seems like he'll be joining us from now on. Would you mind showing him what we do?”

Hyunjin wondered if things always had a reason for coming into existence, he was an artist after all, most of the strokes of paint and ink were done by purpose, even mistakes could be given a purpose—Minho supposed things just fell into a line whether or not they were thought after—after all, what were stories if not the thoughts of a person that just so happened to align?

The scent of rusted metal, the drag of the strings, the ache on his thumb where the skin had been chipped off by a single mistake when he'd misangled the plectrum. He opened his eyes to see the scene in front of him again—the same venue—the same equipment—the same guitar. Jisung could barely make out much of the current happenings. His fingers were attuned with the guitar that they simply played with a mind of their own. This was his last show.
Music flowed through him like blood in his arteries and creativity flowed through his veins back to his heart - on the outside, he had the perfect life - the dream internship and university selection. But did he deserve any of it?
(Yeah. Yeah, he did. The neighbors of his new apartment, seven musicians who'd just lost their guitarist were compelled to prove that to him.)

Of course not, Minho thought to himself. He doesn't even know Jisung that well, and they're simply friends who got to know each other through their respective channels. He's sure that Jisung will soon go on his way, and his little puppy crush on Jisung will fade with enough time too.
