Giles has to accept that Willow understands him more than he’d like. He needs her help with his injury if he’s going to stop Glory’s apocalypse. And help with something else that Buffy bloody well won’t talk about.
My attempt to answer some questions - how did Giles feel about Buffy’s threat to kill him and anyone who might try to stop her from letting the whole universe die (“including Dawn”) if it meant she had to sacrifice Dawn? (The full impact of that won’t hit him this early, future installment foreshadowing here). How did Willow transition to the leader of the Slayerettes? Most of all, how the hell did Giles dive “once more unto the breach” a couple of hours after a spear wound, a vehicle flip, hours of bleeding out, and emergency surgery in a filthy gas station performed by an intern who was apparently subletting from Glory?

Summary
Giles didn’t want Buffy to rescue him from his roaring rampage of revenge against Angelus. It takes a punch to the face for him to remember his Slayer and her friends are still kids and they need him. Can he grieve for Jenny in front of them and express how much *he* needs *them*?
(Yes, but in typically Gilesian fashion: “so many words”, startling bursts of intense feelings no one is comfortable reacting to, tea and biscuits at his flat.)

Summary
Caught up trying to survive in his new world, Athelstan hadn't had time to properly grieve the loss of his brothers and his life in England. The chill of autumn in the air brings with it a painful realization and he finds the pain has become too much to ignore. He tries to distance himself from his master to keep it hidden, but when Ragnar notices his slave is not himself, Athelstan has no choice but to tell him why.

For the Vikings Kink Meme @ vikingskink on LJ.
Hi! Not anonymous anymore.
The very first prompt. It called to me, precious.
Trigger Warnings: Rape/Non-Con/Dub-Con, religious themes.
Ragnar takes Athelstan as a slave.
But first Ragnar takes him right there on the altar of the ravaged church in front of everyone, and God help him, Athelstan loves every second of it.
I couldn't quite reconcile the last part - about Athelstan loving every second - with how a Ragnar who would do this sort of thing would go about it, so it's pretty dark.
