Pragmatic, adjective:
Dealing with things sensibly and realistically in a way that is based on practical rather than theoretical considerations.Maddie and Jack Fenton want to investigate the existence of ghosts and eventually dissect one. There's very little funding for that kind of thing. But maybe, if they sign a contract to create anti-mutant weapons, they'll have money for their other projects.
Scott Summers befriends Maddie and Jack in English 101 while making a presentation. Somehow, they hold on to friendship, even if the two scientists are conspiracy-prone. After their doctorate, after their first child, the Fentons begin to email him about making anti-mutant weaponry for the government.
Danny Fenton's parents die. He's Promised to never become Dan, so when an old will from before Vlad Masters reentered his parents' lives mentions sending the children to a "Scott Summers", Danny will do almost anything to avoid Vlad.
