The pitter-patter of soft, excited footsteps echoes off the walls as the girl moves through the dim, empty corridor. All the lights are out and the kitchen staff are tucked into their beds–– but she does not mind the dark, and she is not looking for company.
Faint beams of light shine from the girl’s fingertips, just enough for her to see her feet— clad in pink slippers with silk bows— as she creeps through the Little Palace. Not enough light to do anything more than sneak out of bed, but she does not worry. In time, her power will grow as she does.
