Pete rolls his eyes, but reaches into his backpack at his feet and pulls out a tattered old wallet with a chain. He pulls out an ID, which is vertical like Patrick feared, but the age lines up. Pete is nineteen, like he said. Unless it’s a fake, but that’s going a little too deep into paranoid territory and ultimately, Patrick is still interested in the head he was offered.
