The blood was starting to drip down onto the rug in front of the Hokage's desk. It was running from Kakashi's fingertips; it was spreading all over both his hands, somehow, even though his right hand was still wrapped around his left elbow.
“What triggered it, Kakashi? Do you know?”
“It was a mistake. It won’t happen ag–”
“Try,” said Minato, and this, too, was an order, although a careful one. “Try describing it, Kakashi, just a little. What you were thinking about.”

“So, don’t just say you’ll eat anything, Tobi. I need to know what you want, as specifically as possible. Tell me what sort of food would be easiest to keep down. Something that sounds soothing. You’ll thank me later.”
For a while, no answer.
Then,
“…egg drop soup,” rasped the masked stranger.
There, Kakashi smiled at Tobi, his best crescent-moon-eyed smile, which only seemed to further sour the livid glare of the man in the orange mask. Was that so hard?

“Right!” crowed Naruto. “KISS, Obito-nii!”
“Yeah, kiss!” echoed little Hinata very softly.
“Kiss again! Kiss now, if ya know what I—”
“FINE, ALRIGHT, let me just lower the ma—”
“Nu-uh,” Kakashi interrupted, wagging a finger at him as Obito reached with very shaky hand for the blue cloth mask over his companion’s face. “Mask stays up this time. And it has to be eyes closed, or not at all.”
