Which was all surprisingly domestic for two people who had agreed to have sex for purely philosophical purposes.

Their tent is small and rather uncomfortable; Tecchou knows that he would have preferred a warm bed, perhaps a nice meal beforehand,but Jouno won’t truly complain unless it is necessary, this is not a camping trip after all, they are in the middle of a mission.

Tecchou draws back, furrowing his brows. “I know,“ he says quietly, letting his gaze trail over the dark shadows beneath Jouno’s eyes. “I know, but you just turned back into a human after being a vampire for five days. It’s okay to not be okay after that."
Jouno’s eyelids twitch, his lips parting in surprise.
“Jouno,” Tecchou says, and his voice wavers; barely noticeable but probably twice as obvious to Jouno’s ears. I’m sorry. I missed you. I was so afraid. “I’m glad you're back.”

“I’m alive,” Jouno nodded. It was a statement. A fact. A truth.
Jouno was alive.
“You found me,” he chucked. “I never had any doubt that you would.”
His words made Tecchou’s heart feel warm. This was trust.
“I did,” he agreed. “I found you.”
“Thank you.”
It was then that Tecchou allowed himself to cry– for the first time in years. He didn’t cry when Kunikida blew up a grenade in his face. He didn’t cry when he got stabbed. He didn’t cry when he got captured and tortured for information. He didn’t cry when he had his enhancement surgeries. Tecchou Suehiro was a strong man.
Tecchou Suehiro was a strong man, reduced to tears by two words.
