Look, Marinette's thought process was completely sane thank you very much. Lila lied about her working with Hawkmoth, everyone believed that so why can't she work with him?
His designs are terrible and she has so many ideas! Better ones than him at least, and Hawkmoth wasn't that bad after you got to know him, he even binge-watched her favourite shows.
Sure, he tried to destroy the world a few times but he was no Gabriel Agreste, he really needed help designing things and she needed a distraction from every day life.
