So they cooperate.
And in less then a year, they break through the Barrier and flee the Isle.
They leave their children behind.

Summary
Since the Isle's creation only nine years earlier the royals had all opted to ignore its existence, the villains of their stories were locked away so everything was perfect now, right? No. It wasn't perfect, happily ever afters weren't a permanent thing, especially after King Beast, or Adam, decided one day to see how the Isle was doing and what he saw horrified him.
Or the royals see how bad the Isle is and decide to do something about it.
