Summary
It’s been 19 months since anyone last laid eyes on Hermione Granger. Somehow, the woman had simply vanished from her bed on the night of June 5th, 2004.
This particular raid on the frigid night of January 7th, 2006 started like any other, and ended in absolute chaos, for as the last body fell, and the final escapee pop of apparition sounded, grey eyes finally settled on her. Hermione Granger. Unconscious and barely breathing, but alive.
Hermione’s life after rescue will never be the same, as she settles into muteness, unable to find the courage or strength to speak. Her friends are there for her in all the right and wrong ways, leaving the Golden Girl to find peace in the presence of the person she least expected: Draco Malfoy. More surprising, the Slytherins that used to taunt her are now her biggest advocates, and dangerously protective.

Hermione had been dying, a day at a time, her entire adult life. Not that anybody knew. So Hermione didn't make plans. She didn't let herself linger on a future she could never have, especially a future involving a certain dragonologist that she can't seem to get out of her mind.
And then one day all of that changes. Hermione is healed, but before she can think about what this means for her life, she starts hearing voices. Well— a voice.
But no matter how much Hermione likes this new part of herself, she worries it means she's not healed after all. And as she grows to appreciate its personality more and more, she thinks maybe she doesn't want to be healed if it means giving it up.
The voice in her head is great at snark, especially at the men around her. That is, until she runs into Charlie Weasley at a Christmas dinner she couldn't get out of. Now the voice in her head has ideas about what she should be doing with Charlie, most of it naked, which leads Hermione to discover where the voice comes from, and its connections to Charlie and his dragons.
The question is, will Hermione be willing to accept truth if it means giving up the life she has to become who she was always meant to be?
