She tried not to think about the past or what the woman she was before would think of her life now. How much that passionate, righteous woman would loathe what she’d become, a fightless pet with a tyrant in her bed.

Summary
When Theo comes back from hell, the reality of it becomes too much and he does the only thing he couldn't do in there: shift. Four months after the chimera escaped the jail cell the pack placed him in, he appears in Liam’s backyard… except he’s in wolf form and starving.
Liam decides that if Theo is his responsibility then he must help him figure out why the chimera can’t shift back to human. Maybe the puppy pack would take him more seriously if he stopped rambling about Theo for one fucking minute. Or if Theo stopped being a lap dog on main.

Summary
Liam used to drop coins next to dead bugs. Intentionally. Said that his mom consoled his grief after his dog died with the tale of Charon. Macabre bedtime story, Theo thought, but he could picture little-Liam being comforted at the idea of his dog taking a trip down the river Styx ferried by Charon to a land of eternal treats and head-scratches.
Little-Theo never knew hope like that, but he learned a special kind of love by falling for a boy who thought every living thing deserved compassion even in death.

'Theo didn’t really like Scott or the rest of his stupid pack, but Liam did, and Theo knew Liam was devastated that they forgot. So somehow, Theo found himself leaning back on his hands, taking in a deep breath to let Liam know he was about to say something, but snapped his jaw shut when Liam beat him to it.
Liam’s brow furrowed a little, eyes flicking to the ground. “How could they forget, Theo? How does the reformed murderous Chimera who tried to take over my pack remember my birthday when the entirety of said pack doesn't?”
“Dunbar, I’m not sure how this has escaped your notice, but even at the best of times your pack is fucking stupid.”'
OR: The pack is dumb and forgets Liam's birthday for various reasons. Theo makes it better.
