“He took my case from me.”
Carol’s expression turns sympathetic, but she tips her head from one side to the other in a so-so motion. The perfect waves of her bob sway with it. “You could have been more diplomatic about it.”
“You weren’t there,” Oliver protests.
“And yet I can hear every word that you said,” Carol says. She gives Oliver a look; the one that says she knows him better than any other soul, living or otherwise. “I only told you that he’s a werewolf so you wouldn’t suddenly catch his scent in the middle of some random corridor and…” She gestures vaguely. “…freak out.”
In a world where supernatural creatures are known and live among the population in (relative) peace, vampire Oliver Wolf joins Bronx General only to meet the werewolf Josh Nichols. He’s immediately drawn to him.

“‘How are you, Carol? It’s good to see you, Carol. Thank you for gracing us with you presence, Carol,’” she says in a bad approximation of his voice, even as she moves forward to wrap an arm around him. The other arm is loaded down with gift bags. “Why, thank you, Ollie, it’s nice to see you too.”
And Oliver hasn’t yet parsed out the second figure, but Carol only calls him ‘Ollie’ around one person.
He turns to Maya with a smile. “Maybe you can explain.”
Wolf and Nichols' plans for their first Christmas together are quickly changed when Carol joins them. A (mostly) merry Christmas together ensues.

The scanner beeps, and Josh chances a glance down at it. “More incoming. Twenty klicks out, starboard.”
Carol swears, shifting her gunner’s turret around to zero in on those vessels. “I knew we shouldn’t have agreed to ship spice.”
Another burst of blasterfire, and Josh pulls the controls up, sending them into a loop. “There’s no way they can know what we have onboard.”
“Well, clearly they do.” Lasers spiral from their turret in an explosion of bright blue light, and on the scanner, one, two, three ships go dark. “Get us out of here, Josh!”
A wolfnichols Star Wars AU, where Nichols and Carol work for the Bronx Shipping guild. However, after a run in with some pirates, Carol takes them to Wolf for help, and Nichols somehow gets roped into a plan to strike a heavy blow to the Empire.

Behind the counter is a woman who looks roughly the same age as Ericka, her curly black hair pulled into a messy bun, half-bent over as she leans on the surface with her elbows, some kind of magazine open in front of her.
She narrows her bright brown eyes at Ericka as soon as she’s in sight. The wings of her eyeliner are absolutely perfect. “Are you guys trying to copy us?”
“No?” Ericka says, confused.

The soft timber of his voice. The hesitation in his stride. Oliver turns and sees dark hair and a white t-shirt peeking out from the collar of his scrubs.

“I’m sorry,” Oliver says, “what’s nice?”
“Oh, you know, usually around here I’m feeling spinal taps and migraines. It's nice to feel something different.” He shrugs. “Love.”Or, three times Oliver wants to tell Josh he loves him and one time he accidentally does.
