“Sir, do calm down. It’s no secret you’ve been receiving letters from an admirer. They’re harmless, and yes, this note has only been screened by me. Krum’s agenda doesn’t seem malicious so far.”

The kingdom of Erebor was lost long ago to a curse. They say the only one who knows the location is the dragon who stole it. The mountain was lost to the dwarves long ago.
Banished from their home, the dwarves wander the lands, searching for a safe place to make their own. The only land they were banned entry from was the Shire for none who are not Shire folk may enter the old forest.
Thorin, a desolate prince trying to make enough to care for his family, was not about to enter the Shire. He was simply going to collect firewood at the edge of the trees. He was not about to go in. He wouldn’t dare.
