  1. Summary

I found Emma Pole a fascinating character, not least because it seemed that you could put her next to any other character and they'd have an interesting interaction. So I wrote a series of "conversations", one set during Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, the rest in the years that followed; halfway through, I realised that they were developing into a plot, and to my relief it turned out to have a conclusion.

  2. Summary

Two companion pieces about the Oliver/Ellen/Geoffrey triangle, one from Ellen's point of view and one from Oliver's. I didn't attempt Geoffrey's view, as I think that's what we see on screen! So I thought the series was complete, but then Cyril decided to tell me there was more than one triangle back in the day.

    Bookmarker's Notes

When Toshiko arrives in Heaven, she isn't slow to spot that it's a prison. She vanishes into the code of the Nethersphere and works quietly on making small changes, so that it won't do quite what its Mistress expects. Beautifully crafted by both protagonist and author.

    Summary

In Irene’s house people walk flinchingly past restraints hanging from walls and artfully placed toyboxes to find the one locked door in the building. They shiver slightly at it, wondering what bloody kink-spattered revelation might lie behind it, what could possibly be worse than all of this.

Still my favourite Irene story. The Woman Who Says Yes When She Means No, and what that does to her, and who saves her from it.
