Summary
Ian and Mickey enjoy their newfound relationship during the holiday season. They’ve tried their best to appear to be just good friends to Yev but the kid is smart and very observant. Slowly but surely the Chicago Gallaghers become accustomed to their brother’s love interest but not without a few hiccups. The two men know the bond they share is worth the fight but not everyone agrees with a teacher dating the father of one of their students.

Summary
A twenty two year old Ian has taken on an AmeriCorps position in an elementary school in the Southside of Chicago. It is down the street from his half-siblings’ home so it is the perfect opportunity to give back while reconnecting with the family he never got the chance to know. His father Clayton and adoptive mother Lucy are nervous about their son leaving Boston to return to the rough neighborhood they saved him from but he’s hopeful that he can make a difference and learn more about his past.
Being in charge of 25 seven year olds from the Southside proves to be challenging, especially with a wild pint-sized blond haired and blue eyed rebel challenging his every move from day one. A parent-teacher conference with his most difficult student’s father sets off a string of events that teaches Ian about himself, the siblings he left behind, and a certain rough around the edges thug that he realizes he judged too quickly.

Things are not going well in the Milkovich house. Terry has been out of jail for months. Mandy has moved in her shithead boyfriend Kenyatta. Money is tight and his brothers are getting more and more stupid by the day. Worst of all, his pregnant Russian hand whore wife is always around to remind him of what a waste of space he is. Mickey had been numb since his wedding day, simply going through the motions as a means to survive his shitty life.
Inspired by Season 4! This fic will retell the events of Ian being missing and then found by Mickey. It will start off pretty close to canon but my goal is to tell it through Mickey’s POV. This boy was in love but struggled so much! After Ian is found I’m going to use some liberties.
*Title inspired by a Gracie Abrams song of the same title. I feel like it’s such a Gallavich song from the earlier seasons.*

When he starts to make an unexpected connection with Mickey, the father of Yevgeny, his challenging yet misunderstood student, his life improves but also becomes more chaotic.
This series will explore the growing bond between Ian, Mickey, and Yev.
