Wei forgets zhan and falls for him againEverything is a mess, and every day feels so hard, but Wei Wuxian has to smile and pretend that the amnesia doesn’t bother him. He has to do it, otherwise his family will worry over him. Jiang Yanli is already cautious around him as it is; if she knew how he really felt about his amnesia, no doubt she’ll be crying over it all the time.
He hides his face in the crook of Lan Wangji’s neck, and for the first time in weeks, lets himself go, and just cries a little bit. “It’s hard, Lan Zhan,” he chokes out. “Everything is hard. People greet me on the street like we’re old friends, but I can’t recognise them. I look back at old projects I’ve done, and I don’t understand them. You’re so nice to me all the time, and I don’t- I don’t even remember you. I’m trying so hard to remember, but it hurts when I try, and I’m just… I’m sorry.”
Lan Wangji’s arms tighten around Wei Wuxian. “Wei Ying,” he whispers. It’s the most emotional that Wei Wuxian has heard Lan Wangji in the short time he’s known him. “Wei Ying, you don’t have to apologise to me for anything too, especially not for this.”
Wei Wuxian clutches at him. “But I-”
“Wei Ying, let me help you?” Lan Wangji asks softly.
