"Which is the easier of the two remaining divorce papers to serve?" Miles asks Phoenix, kissing his nose before propping him back up on the couch.
Phoenix sighs. "Probably Will Powers," he replies.
Miles' eyebrows shoot up. "You... married... Will Powers?"
"He took me on location in New York to film a movie and, uh, kind of propositioned me. I was young and didn't want to have sex before marriage, so we eloped."
Miles raises an eyebrow. "Really? You didn't want to have premarital sex, so you MARRIED him?"
Breaking news in Japanifornia: gay marriage is legal across the United States! Phoenix and Miles can finally get married! Except, whoops—they each have failed marriages in other states and countries that have suddenly become recognized again, and they need to clean up the wreckage of their pasts before they can marry each other.

"You seem to have forgotten that Crane wasn't the only one with burns here, y'know? Even if Faraday didn't have the key card to get into the room, that doesn't mean someone else who wasn't supposed to have it couldn't have stolen it. Y'see?"
"What are you possibly trying to im... Imply?"
"I said take off your gloves Sebastian... Why're you such an idiot, y'know?"
Shakily, one finger after another he plucked off the glove's fingers until it was safe to slide off in one go. His vision- thankfully- blurred in tears so when he pulled it off, sniffling, his breath hitching, he couldn't see the molted skin but instead only hear the range of reactions around the courtroom instead varying from terror to disgust to shock.
God, maybe he really was a disgusting idiot.
