Summary
Vo'kuith, an experienced Arbitrator, escapes the burdens of his title to take a brief respite in the Tennessee mountains. While there, he encounters Willow, a woman trapped in the confines of an abusive marriage and isolated on what was supposed to be the homestead of her dreams, and now is only a nightmare. Initially disgusted by Willow's weaknesses, Vo'kuith encounters a fierce and unexpected strength in the woman and begins an unorthodox pursuit of her.

Summary
