It must be so amusing to watch John flounder whilst he's doing his bloody godammed best to "keep up". Sherlock makes a living from deducing people's foibles...so why choose John as a partner? Why choose John out of everyone, when they both know he never stood a chance? John's done playing the fool. He's more than ready to quit.

What it says on the box. I really enjoy works based on holidays, but write so slowly that I never make the date on time. So, something simple, stupid, and hopefully amusing to read.
Also *cough cough* if anyone is interested in making a podcast of this...have at it. I would like to, but not only do I not have any recording equipment, my voice sounds like a coked-up squirrel sucking helium. Seriously. I used to read and record text books for visually impaired students in college. I used to think..." Those poor people, having to listen to me if they want to study!

Chan scrunched his eyes shut and opened them again, exhaling the memories along with his tightened breath. That scent was no bin. This sort of smell could only be one coming from a distressed wolf.
It wasn’t his problem, he told himself. They’d find help, they’d have a pack. Everyone seemed to have one back when he was younger, why should it be any different now? He knew they’d be taken care of. Someone would swoop in any second and make all the pain go away. A pang of something he couldn’t quite put his finger on struck his chest. Why hadn’t someone come for him when he was in need? He slammed the window shut. The wolf would be fine.

A new delivery man shows up with Sherlock’s takeaway one night, piquing his interest enormously. Over the course of several deliveries, they discover more about the other’s unique abilities and their mutual respect and intrigue grow. After they save a young couple from a hate-fueled attack, their own connection deepens. (Sweet, lightly silly, some tension that's quickly resolved.)

Summary
Sherlock is back and all seems forgiven, but something is missing between him and John. Their friendship initially appears intact, but Sherlock doesn't understand why John seems to be slipping away. Finally, in terror, he tries to reconnect with John by taking him to the one place that seems to inspire any emotional interest in John any more: the Canadian wilderness. While there, Sherlock faces his greatest fear.
