Summary
When good luck hit Eddie, first by Billy Hargrove waking him up in the Upside Down, then by figuring out a plan to actually get back, executing that plan to success and crawling out of Lover's Lake only to find Steve Harrington eating a bag of chips whilst he sat on the front of his car. He didn't know quite what to do with it. He simply sat at the water's edge as the sun went down, breathed in a way he'd almost forgotten how to and watched Billy Hargrove shake Steve mercilessly by the shoulders before Steve dropped his chips and slapped him across the face in shock.

Billy Hargrove and Eddie Munson are trouble separately, but together they pose an even greater mystery. One that Steve doesn't even want to begin to solve. So why can't Steve just tell them to fuck off, and why is he leading them to the break-room to "talk", and why are they looking at him like he's gone and hung the moon and painted the stars?-or-
Billy and Eddie are weak and Steve is the most delectable thing on the menu. And also there's time travel.

“Eddie, baby, please, talk to me,” Steve begs, reaching out and brushing Eddie’s hair off his face, cursing at the heat radiating off Eddie’s skin. “You’re burning up!”
“It wasn’t supposed to be today,” Eddie whines. “I thought I had more time. I- I thought I could get through tonight, at least.”
“What wasn’t supposed to be today? What hurts? Eddie, please talk to me.”
“My- my heat,” Eddie admits, eyes downcast.
Steve reels back. “Your- what? But- but you’re an alpha!”
Eddie lets out a pained chuckle, shaking his head. “Not last time I checked.”

OR: Steve is an alpha, but pretending to be a beta. Eddie is an omega, but everyone thinks he’s an alpha - until Eddie and Steve have a movie night, and Eddie goes into an early heat. Steve helps him though it.

Summary
“What’s Eddie going to do?” Dustin’s question is followed by a series of “ssshhh" and Robin adding, “Come on man, don’t ask him that, his house is gone.”
“He’s going to stay with me.”
Eddie’s face snaps to Steve when he says that, something unreadable in his eyes. Without really realizing it, Steve wraps his free hand around Eddie’s calf, thumb pressed gently to the back of his knee. “If he’s okay with that,” Steve adds softly, for Eddie alone.
Eddie regards him for a moment before slowly nodding. “He is.”Steve rescues Eddie from the Upside Down and takes him home for recovery.

As Steve Harrington dangled from his roof with Christmas lights wrapped around his ankle, he contemplated how he got here. Sure, he is a little stuck in his ways, he can admit that. But he never thought deviating from his normal everyday holiday plans would end up like this. Every year he decorates with tasteful multi-colored lights across his gutters, wraps his windows in even more lights, and even his door frame if he’s really feeling the Christmas spirit. But this year? This year was just not enough. Damn that Eddie Munson. It’s his fault that he’s dangling from his roof, all his fault.
