Summary

Toph has founded a metalbending school in the Earth Kingdom. Sokka has taken the lead beside their father in the Southern Water Tribe’s rebuilding and modernization process.
It seems there’s no place left that needs Katara.

Summary
It wasn’t like breathing or trembling or fire. It was none of the things other people had described to her, and it was somehow more than what she’d been told to expect. For her, it was like a curtain of silence had been drawn around the two of them. The hush was so heavy she felt like she could part it with her hand as her eyes locked with His.
He shot to his feet almost as quickly as she did, and somewhere in the back of her mind she knew she should’ve heard the sound of his chair clattering to the floor, but she heard nothing. Just that thick silence, as heavy as a cloud that hung over them punctured only by the melody of her timer and the repeated beep of his.
The silence faded when Officer Bradford -her training officer and, apparently, her soulmate- uttered a single word that everyone in the roll call heard, but Lucy loudest of all.
“Shit.”

This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::
