But what would happen to those without a soulmark? Being aromantic and asexual can happen, but you still have a platonic soulmate. Such a thing is an extremely rare occurrence and doesn’t happen often. Not being born with one is seen as a defect, an illness even. It’s unknown as to why it happens. Most of the time not having a destined soulmate ends in suicide or other drastic actions because of loneliness and ideation. And somehow it just so happens to be that he has no soulmark.
