Childe’s head buzzes with memories he doesn’t want anymore. He looks away, but no matter where his gaze falls, Zhongli’s hand is on his waist. Zhongli’s hand is in his.

The dance ends, and Morax bows again to press another kiss to Tartaglia’s hand.
He’s so close. Perhaps in a different life, Childe would tilt Zhongli’s face up for a kiss. Perhaps, he could close his fingers around Zhongli’s and never let go.
But that life is not this one, and what a shame that is.

Summary
By some irrational part of his brain, Veritas believed it to be intentional for a time, though it is unlikely for someone to intentionally forget something, as that’s not how forgetting works, and anyone who accuses someone of forgetting on purpose is a fool and a hypocrite, considering it is likely they, too, have forgotten many things in their lives. Memory is rather fickle, after all, and the human brain can only hold so much information at one time. Overload it, and people are likely to burn out.
Dr. Ratio observes Aventurine and learns how best to improve his quality of life.
