First Chapter Preview: Tex found him a few minutes before sundown. He walked up to his child and sat down next to him. Tiny sobs shook Keith’s body. After a few minutes, the halfling looked up at his father.
“Why don’t they like me, Papa?” Keith whispered.
Tex wrapped his arm around him. Keith burrowed into his chest.
Tex sighed. His son- his tiny, precious son- was hurting. Not for the first time, Tex cursed Krolia for leaving them.
“Kids can be very mean, especially when dealing with someone or something they do not understand. You are different from them, which makes it easy for them to pick on you. They have no idea what they are talking about. You are smart and talented, and anyone who you befriend is lucky to have you in their life. Do not let the bullies get to you.”
