Just as he was about to open the bottle and pull some of the narcotics up into the needle, a knock cut through the quiet of the apartment Spencer stiffened from fear, then he heard another knock. It wasn’t loud or demanding, but Spencer wasn’t expecting anyone over, so it startled him. He sighed, tiredly lifting himself off his leather couch before putting his tools on the coffee table.
The last person he was expecting was Derek Morgan, standing there, darting his eyes anxiously, looking worried and hesitant. “Hey kid, is it alright if I come in?” Derek questioned.

Derek and Spencer get together a month after the Tobias Hankle case. Derek helps Spencer get sober while their relationship blossoms. This story follows the two agents as they find themselves with each other, come out to their team, and start a family (Spans from season 2 to season 11).

Gaara is quiet, observant, and struggles with uncontrollable bursts of anger. His uncle, Yashamaru, takes him to a park one day, where Gaara, wearing a rich appearance, walks past Sakura, who hides from their view. Despite her shyness, Sakura is intrigued by Gaara's unusual appearance, especially his striking red hair.
The two children’s paths cross unknowingly, both dealing with their own struggles of neglect, isolation, and longing for something better in their lives. What they get is each other, for better or worse, and all the baggage that comes with it.
