Jeongguk owns a small flower shop on the corner of a busy street. He loves the smell of all the flowers, and it's a great way to hide his scent. The building he lives in is both his flower shop and apartment. His apartment is on the second level. He knows that omegas are hard to find as they're rare, so he would rather keep to himself and wait for a potential mate than go out where he could be hurt. At least that's what he hopes.
Though, one day across the street, Jeongguk sees someone move into a vacant apartment in the apartment building that was opposite him.

The entire concept of Hanahaki, at least in König’s seven year old eyes, was captivating. Though that was mostly due to the stories his mother had told and the romantacised depictions of the disease in almost any media he could get his hands on about it. An interest (and maybe a borderline obsession) with flowers followed soon after. By the time he was eight, he could name any and all flowers growing in his back garden, and any wildflowers he came across in the school fields during recess. He, simply put, adored flowers. He adored the Rhododendron bush at the bottom end of his neighbours' driveway that he walked past on his way to school in the leadup months to his summer holidays. In the late spring, carnations would bloom in his back garden and would greet him every morning when he opened the curtains. Naively, he wondered what flowers would pass his lips when he eventually found his own soulmate.
