"This isn't the first time this has happened. It's like you don't even care about what we had."
"We didn't have anything serious. You made sure of that with your constant slags you strutted around." Although she's strong, he can still hear the tears through her wavering voice. "Now move, Draco. Let me go."
"I can't."
"Why?"
"Because I hate seeing you with someone else. It makes me question everything." Draco takes a leap of faith. "I miss you. Don't you miss me?"
The silence is stifling.

Not only must she confront the contempt of the affluent, but her own morals and what lengths she will go to attain power in a world that allows her none. Meanwhile, Tom is on his own quest for power, and Hermione is the only person in his way.
“But that was a long, long time ago. I-I’m not sure if I’m supposed to tell you this, but back in the day, there were trials. People would play super dangerous games to join. But the current ones—the ones who still consider themselves sacred—still play 'em.”

Draco stared at the parchment in front of it, wishing just once his accidental magic would do something useful for once and light the thing on fire. He could of course just try and sneak his father’s wand, but Draco knew he would get in some sort of trouble, and probably burn down the manor with it.
They sent out the decree a few months ago, that select pure-blood children would be required to send letters to a Muggleborn child (and some half-bloods)weekly until they attended Hogwarts. Draco knew it was a big scam though, the only kids he knew to have gotten the assignment parents were either Slytherins or had some sort of involvement in the bad side of the war. He knew his father was no saint, and he didn’t have any intention of following in his footsteps. So really, there was no reason for Draco to have to send a letter to the mouthy swot Hermione Granger.
And yet here he was, signing his name.
