This is a side-story about Rui and Ukkomon.
After making amends with Ukkomon and helping to prevent an impending worldwide Digimon crisis, Rui decided to make new connections with other people and rebuild his own circle of friends. But things didn't go well, due to the fact that he's been awkward around people since the that incident and has been avoiding them for fear of being called a "freak".
Daisuke suggests that Rui should get in touch with people from his past: the friends Rui once had from his school days, but Rui is not sure about this idea…Then, one day… Someone named Ayame managed to get his phone number…? The text sent to his inbox said they were classmates since kindergarten. He wondered if this was a scam mail or something, but it didn’t include a fishy link embedded in the message…
Only something more… intriguing than a fishy link: A photo from the time he was an elementary school student…Would it be true that… something in that tragic childhood of his was legitimately real?

Finally, he opened it to see an ornate, light blue square-like device with a small screen and digicode on the hinges. Numerous scratches and signs of wear were visible on the device, even a few cracks. Next to it was an odd necklace with a strange crest—a golden M with four protruding diamonds.
