Summary
Harry remembers this face projected on the screens, splattered with blood, handsome and unforgiving like so many Careers before him. Devoid of emotion as he cut down his opponents with distressing efficiency. Deadly.
“You’re Tom Riddle,” says Harry. He states this as a fact.
Tom’s gaze narrows in on him, raking over his face and body like Harry is a tiny moth pinned to a board. “That I am. District One. I will be your mentor for this year’s Games.”

Summary
“It’s better just to die than to lose under the title of a Victor.”
Harry blinked, slowly. “You intend to win.”
“I do.”
“Good luck with that,” he said, turning to leave. “The Capitol only wants the winners that are remarkable.”
Tom Riddle was remarkable in every single way. Tom Riddle was a born Victor. Harry Potter was not.
Harry goes into the Hunger Games with no desire to take others' lives, and no desire to let others die. He is a striking young boy, hair a cloud of dark smoke and eyes that the Capitol would carve out of his skull to keep on a chain, paired with the unremarkable, plain seeming Hermione Granger. Whilst they are both from District Twelve, Harry, with his thin body and his sharp angles and proportions, is the most beautiful of all the competitors, and they all think they know who is going to win.
It'll just take a little push to get him to kill.

Summary
“And finally from District 12, the boy goes to…” the screen showed an extravagantly dressed woman reaching into a glass container which housed what appeared to be hundreds of folded up scraps of paper.
“Draco Malfoy,” his headmaster said at the same time that the woman announced, “Harry Potter,” in a sing-song voice that sealed Draco’s fate.
