The television series, Highlander is set in the 1990s. It starts with 17-year old Richie Ryan, a petty thief living on the streets encountering the immortal Duncan MacLeod while robbing his antique store. In the second episode Richie is living with Duncan and his partner Tessa Noel, a French artist. There is no explanation as to how the boy came to live with them and in fact infers this happened over a short time frame. As a result, I have chosen to disregard cannon because, well, it is my fanfiction and I can do what I want. After all, I don't own these characters, the story line, or the premise. I only let them run around in my head and allow their voices to spill out onto my keyboard.
During the course of this series of snippets, I will explore the many times I think the young man would have benefitted by a warm backside and firm guiding hand. I may play with the timelines and possibly some elements of the character' history.
This first chapter will explain how Richie came to live with MacLeod and Tessa.
