Summary
The process of time travel that Bart used was unstable. Only an extremely rare metal, known as Chromium, an alloy made by Professor Fingel Parallax has the properties needed to keep Bart anchored in this reality. Of course, Jaime and Bart were just planning their lives together when this all came about.
