Ena cringed as she watched her bedside clock tick closer to the five am range. It was a digital clock, courtesy of Akito’s passive aggressive nature. She sighed and pulled the quilt that Mizuki had made closer to her neck. She has been trying to get her sleep schedule fixed that night for a pancake breakfast she and Akito had planned but that wasn’t panning out. Ena flung her arm over her face, hiding her eyes in the crook of her elbow. She could practically feel her awareness rotting in the back of her skull as she willed herself to go to sleep-
A buzzing tore her attention to her phone laying on the pillow beside her plugged into the charger. Ena slowly uncovered her eyes to see the familiar picture of Mafuyu calling her phone.
Ena squinted at her phone for a moment in confusion. Why was Mafuyu calling her at 4:47 in the morning?
