Summary
Dazai and Chuuya arrive in the middle of the airport battle, ready to finish what they started. They push through the best they can, using the trust they have in each other and experience in situations where their backs are against a wall. Once the dust settles, they find a moment of respite in it all.
“Dazai!” Chuuya calls. Dazai knows what he's saying. It isn't a question, simply a message.
He throws a look over his shoulder at Dazai. Dazai's lips are unhappily pursed in one last assessment of the situation. “Fine,” he says. But they both know Corruption is their only option.
Chuuya is already pulling off his gloves.

To rip it to shreds along with Chuuya’s writing. But the three words on the bottom of the page kept Dazai’s eye glued to the page.

One– There was no steam in the air or on the mirror. The water was ice cold.
Two– Chuuya, (fully clothed he might add), was limp on the floor of the shower, unconscious. Every few seconds, a shiver would run through his body. His lips were a pale tint of blue.

Dazai crawled forward, head spinning as he let himself flop onto Chuuya’s chest. He hurriedly sent a quick backup request to Hirotsu, before fatigue hit him like a semi-truck.
He just had to hope the backup made it before they both died of shock.

Chuuya uses Corruption, and in the process injures Dazai. When Corruption is nullified, an injured Dazai has to figure out some way to defend him and Chuuya until backup gets there.

He wondered if the brunette was capable of feeling other emotions, and what he would look like with each expression. It looked weirder the more he imagined the brunette- just simply smiling in genuine innocent delight, or tears escaping brown pools due to hurt, lashes still wet and glossy.
Dazai was the Demon Prodigy, an unfeeling unsympathetic enigma, an expert chess master. Always two steps ahead, intentions never revealed, hidden under wraps of pristine gauze.
A sinister, diabolical Daemon, the master of heaven and hell.

Although he wasn't one to speak of inhumanity, the 2383 lines of code made sure of that.
They weren't so different, it was just that Chuuya pretended to be a living soul, and Dazai did not.

“I don’t need a fucking nanny,” he snaps. Watching Dazai bristle is like watching a rock start talking. They’re standing with a cliff between them even though Chuuya could reach out and grasp his tie and choke him to death. Chuuya’s brain is still a scramble of images flashing at the back of his head; the shower of bullets he had to keep away from Dazai, the smug smirk he got in return. Them. Always them when they’re deployed together, and Chuuya’s reminded what it means to miss someone when he’s toeing his shoes alone on the foyer, mission completed.
They’re two worlds colliding, and Chuuya isn’t a selfish man. He only wishes he could steal something—it’s not like he wants to keep Dazai or anything—but just… a keepsake. And that would be disgusting; wanting. “I’m okay. I’ve done this countless times without your stupid help."
