The other man often spoke about Cecil's voice like it was honey, how it was smooth and full-bodied, but there was very little that rivaled Carlos in these moments, in these small pockets of serenity. In a town with a glowing cloud on the PTA Board (All Hail), Cecil was weird.. And lonely.

Cecil, wrung out physically and emotionally from Carlos’s absence and everything else that’s happened over the last year, has gone to the opera to get material for his final show before leaving Night Vale. What he finds afterward is so much better than he’d hoped.
