She feels like she can always sense her, like someone is whispering secrets about her and her family, whispers just slightly out of reach. No matter what she does, she can't break this weird bond with Rosalie Hale and her family, forcing Rosalie to protect her from the unseen dangers of their little forest town that Bella's new found powers seem to attract.

Della Hale was the overshadowed older sister of Rosalie Hale–by age twenty, she still wasn't married, making her parents–particularly her father–very angry. Instead, Della fell in love with a poor man named Paul. When the Hales learned of Della's romance (and the fact that she was pregnant with Paul's child), they berated her and shunned her.
Della snuck out of the home that night, heading to Rosalie's friend, Vera's house, when she found Rosalie, bloody and crying in an alley.
The mysterious Carlisle Cullen approached, and Della begged him to save her sister, sensing that he wasn't human. She didn't care about Carlisle's strange nature, just that Rosalie would be okay.

Going to Forks at that time proved to be a big mistake, because she gets kidnapped by a vampire named James and eventually, gets turned.
Losing her humanity was a hard thing for Elsa to come to terms with. She'd known about the vampire world for less than a week, with no actual knowledge of it, and then suddenly she was one. She was lucky her sister was dating a vampire who was a member of a good family. They took her in and helped her with her new life.
But even that didn't last very long... Elisabetta and Bella eventually lost the Cullens, too, left in Forks to fend for themselves.

Bella (Isabella) knew Rose when she was a human back in the 1915's before the fatal accident that happened in 1933. Rosalie was turned into a vampire by Carlisle Cullen after being gang raped and mutilated to the brink of death by her fiancé (who her mother had forced to marry) and his friends.
While her friend had got shot on the same day, Rosalie had founded out a few hours later that her lover had died. She was so angry and sad that she promised to never fall in love again. But she meets her lover again in a school cafeteria, luckily she remembers her.
