Now then bring on the crime syndicates, rampaging monsters and eldritch ghosts! I mean it's not like I got reborn as one of the game protagonists right?

Summary
Ida the Meowstic, a historian researching humans, signs up for the local guild in order to hopefully find relics from an age long gone in Mystery Dungeons. Fortunately for her, what she finds is much more than she could have hoped for, as she eventually meets Anna. Of course, this comes at the cost of saving the world (as is customary for PMD protagonists). And Asterus is there too.
This is me, a fairly bad writer, writing a story from an idea I had, solely on impulse. As much as I’d like to say I’m going to see this through, I feel like I’ll burn up pretty fast, so don’t expect all too much, please. I’ll do my best, though.
Also, for those reading here, this is only a mirror of the work on pmdff — this fic was first written for that website, so I might have some issues with images and other stuff on here. Also, you can find some bonus stuff on pmdff, specifically addenda — I plan to include some puzzles and extra lore in there. Adding those here would ruin the chapter order (and ao3 doesn't support passwords to let the puzzles be functional).
