Summary
A blessing and a curse, Shanks had called it. Luffy understands why, now.
“Ace!” he cried, reaching out to hold onto his older brother, desperate for the comfort he knew his brother would provide.
His hands slipped right through.
Or: What if Luffy can see ghosts? How much does this change?

Summary

Summary
A week of running around and experimenting and chasing down people most people not named “Monkey D. Garp” would be killed for learning from tells him whatever's going on with Luffy, it’s not Haki, or if it is, it’s a version neither he nor anyone else in the goddamn world has heard of. Another week of running around later, much to Luffy’s innocent delight in traveling and exploring, and he picks up that most of Luffy’s sightings of people that shouldn’t be there take place near places where people have recently died, and despite it sounding fake even to him, Garp concludes that his grandson, fucking somehow, can see ghosts.
Delightful.

Summary
Luffy knew from a young age he was different, because he was the only one who saw them.
Them being the animals - the spirits he'd eventually learn. There weren’t many, and they weren’t always visible to even Luffy, but they were there. Only, he was the only one to ever see them.Series

Summary
The dead carry everything to their grave with them: secrets and memories, and sometimes the hearts of the living. And yet...
Yet here is that all casually brought to the ground in front of him; ghosts and all, and this isn't any Horo Horo fruit power, not even close.
The seas are just too wide for the impossible, and Shanks thinks that maybe he's never really known the impossible anyway.
Luffy bursts into laughter at him, and Shanks is absolutely livid. Truly, Shanks's ego has suffered too much since meeting Luffy, and it's all a dead man's fault.
(or: in which Luffy sees ghosts, and things are the mostly the same, but not really)
