Summary
After the catastrophic events of Manderly, and the unfortunate breaking of his marriage to his second wife, his family cutting him off from their money. The label attached to the once wealthy Maxim De Winter changes within the town, as does his reputation that once held it. As punishment, Maxim is forced to become a companion to none other than Mrs. Van Hooper, the town gossiper, and follow her every whim, through such humiliation Maxim finds himself on a train heading to god knows where and ends up meeting Theodore Laurence a charming,smart, and still cheeky as all get out, man but with one difference. He is now a rich man, who is slowly learning to navigate the world as a soon to be graduating Harvard student this year, while balancing coming into a lot of wealth at the same time. He seeks adventure and to travel the world, in order to find what he wishes to ultimately do with his life.
