Loki doesn’t dislike living in the university dormitories. As a Faculty-in-Residence, he has private access to a small but quaint suite, a discount at the dining halls, and practically no commute to the humanities building where he teaches a variety of mythology courses.
The only downside?
The students.
It’s not that Loki doesn’t like the students. He loves teaching, being able to make his own syllabus and plan out his yearly book list and he’s been here long enough that he gets his choices of courses. But teaching students and living with students are two very different animals.
The main problem is the fire alarm.
The students in the building, having just barely reached adulthood, are not always the best at judging cooking temperatures or with time management.
This year, they make it two full weeks into the semester, after orientations and first days of class, before someone in the dorm sets the fire alarm off.
