Summary
Re-telling of Breath of the Wild. Pre and Post- Calamity from Zelda and Link's perspectives, respectively.
Link wakes up in a Post-Calamity world with visions of a beautiful princess that he once knew. As memories come back to him, he wrestles with feelings he once had for her, saving Hyrule, and becoming the Hero everyone claims he once was.
In the Pre-Calamity world, Zelda worries that she won't be strong enough to save Hyrule from the coming doom. She has a knight that won't stop following around and visions of his deaths she can't shake. Her soon-to-be betrothed: a pretentious man she can't stand. A father who doesn't believe in her. And the distinct feeling that the path she walks has already been laid out before her, no matter how she tries to stray from it.
How will the choices she makes now affect the fate of those around her, and her own?

Months ago, an unknown virus broke out, turning Hyruleans into decaying corpses. Panic erupted throughout the nation, as more bitten Hyruleans turned, and soon, the affected areas were sealed off to prevent further spread.
The situation seems bleak. All connection to the outside world has been cut off. The radios and TVs had gone out weeks ago. No news of help, supply crates, or evacuations. You don't even know if there is some semblance of normal life outside anymore, and it's certain that no one is coming to look for survivors.
Now, it's just Link and you, the zombies, and whatever you can salvage from the wreckage that had been left in the mass panic. Perhaps there are other survivors out there. Perhaps it's every man for himself.BotW Link x gn! reader, modern zombie apocalypse AU
