Summary
Sentenced to serve the Valar for six hundred and thirty-three years as retribution for their crimes, Maedhros and Maglor return to Middle Earth to seek the ghosts of those they had doomed. Of the re-embodied Noldor, few accompany them; only Fingon, for loyalty's sake, Aredhel and Idril, seeking to re-unite with Turgon, and Orodreth, in search of his daughter's wandering spirit.
But the land, broken by war and falling swiftly into ruin, is treacherous, and danger awaits from the moment they disembark. The elves will be forced to reckon with old friends and enemies alike, and sometimes these two may be harder to tell apart than they seem.

Pengolodh wrote that Maeglin was a traitor of Gondolin who lusted after Idril....
But what if that version of history records was proved wrong, almost right after the Fall of Gondolin, thanks to the Halls of Mandos being in Valinor, while Idril was still stuck in Middle-earth for the next 15 years?
By the other slaves in Angband who had died and entered the Halls, and knew what Sauron and Morgoth likely did to drag that information out of Maeglin?
Answer: Idril and the rest of the surviving Gondolindrim coming off as the nasty ones, and those who died in the Fall, having to face that there is two sides of a coin/story as well their own threatment of Maeglin
And one very, very upset Anaire about what her grandson is being painted as, by his own cousin.

Summary
When Celebrimbor ends up in the Havens, living with the survivors of Doriath and Gondolin, as well as other refugees, he is not sure of his welcome, as his relatives had been the ones to murder the people of Doriath.
Yet, surprising no one more than him, he slowly develops a friendship with Princess Elwing of Doriath and Prince Eärendil, the son of his cousin Princess Idril and her mortal husband Lord Tuor, who are currently ruling the city. As the years pass and Elwing and Eärendil get married, take over ruling the city and give birth to twins, they live in peace.
Until the letter arrives, bearing a familiar eight-pointed star, asking for the Silmaril again.

After an attack on Maedhros himself as he moved to Himring, they became aware of a new player on the board. Or not so new? Old enemies resurfaced as they fight agains the clock to avoid more than one catastrophe they remember full well from the past.

Turgon has had enough of Maeglin pining over Idril, and seeks to give him something better to do with his time. Having Maeglin marry one of the lords of the city will grant him a companion (after all, he seems so horribly lonely!), get his mind off of Idril, and let him take up more responsibility like he wants to. It's the perfect solution.
Glorfindel is delighted to be marrying the prince he's been hiding his affections for, but Maeglin finds this no kinder than a death sentence: he had thought that being in love with someone unattainable would make him off-limits for anyone to court.
But Glorfindel is determined to make Maeglin happy, even if Maeglin can't love him, and Maeglin isn't as immune to being treated kindly as he might think he is.
